Sarapduli Forest Rest House is located on the way to Dhikala Forest Rest House. It is almost 18 km from the Dhangari gate inside the forest.  is the most centrally located rest house in the Dhikala tourism zone. This FRH has proximity to the Ramganga river. Mixed forest ranges and river beds are surrounding the Sarapduli FRH. This is why it is the best-suited forest lodge for wildlife viewing in the Dhikala zone.

Things To Do

Sarapduli FRH is the place to be in case you want to spot crocodiles or gharial. As it is positioned downstream from Gairal on the southern banks of the Ramganga river. The banks are where these reptiles prefer to bask in the sun. The northern banks rise to a peak. Therefore you will also find variation in the terrain while at Sarapduli FRHSarapduli FRH is one of the most amazing places to be when at Corbett. Tourists who are keen to see Corbett’s wildlife creatures such as tigers, elephants, and several other varieties of animals need to plan their stay at Sarapduli FRH.

The southernmost ridge of Sarapduli FRH houses the Bijrani and Malani rest houses. On moving towards the northern side of the northern ridge, you will come across a road running through the reserve forest area. The southern ridge houses the FRHs of Loha Chaur, Rathuadab, and Mundiapani. All in all, Sarapduli FRH will let you experience the flora and fauna of Dhikala at its best.

How to reach?

Not just that, the availability of rich conveyance options makes Sarapduli Forest Rest House an absolute favorite among tourists. It is located in the Dhikala zone. The main entry gate for tourists visiting the Dhikala Range is the Dhangadi Gate. The nearest airport to Dhikala is located at Pantnagar. The nearest major railway station is located in Ramnagar, around 21 km from the rest house. Also, regular buses function between all the major cities and Ramnagar. 

Accommodation

Sarapduli Forest Rest House has limited accommodation options. It has two bedrooms and one four-bedded dormitory. The double bedrooms at Sarapduli FRH are booked offline at the Jim Corbett National Park office at Ramnagar. The 4 bedded dormitory is booked online on the official website of Corbett national park.

Visitors need to arrange their conveyance arrangements to reach the lodge. Also, note that electricity is not available at the Sarapduli FRHThe solar panel inverters generate a limited power backup. All the rooms will have attached bathrooms with facilities like running water, a western toilet, and a wash basin facility. The dormitory too has a separate washroom entry from outside. The rooms are large and well-ventilated. You will find all the basic amenities other than TV and AC.  Solar wire fencing surrounds the Sarapduli FRH to provide safety against wild animals.

Fooding

Unlike other FRHs, Sarapduli Forest Rest House doesn’t have a canteen or restaurant facilities. The forest department provides you with a cook. Carry your ration and hand it over to the cook. The ration should be sufficient for you, the assigned cook, your gypsy driver, and your guide. This would be 4 people in total. Be sure that the ration you carry should be sufficient for the number of days you are visiting. You will be served a fresh dinner at 7 PM. However, you won’t be allowed non-vegetarian items on the premises. Though, eggs are permissible.

Booking Of Sarapduli Forest Rest House

The forest lodge is open and accessible throughout the year which is why it is an absolute favorite among tourists. However, the best time to visit the  Sarapduli FRH is from the 15th of November to the 15th of June. But it should be noted that due to limited accommodation, prior booking is recommended. Indian nationals can make reservations 45 days before the visit. Meanwhile, foreigners are suggested to book 90 days before their visit.

The double bedrooms at Sarapduli Forest Rest House can be booked offline from the Jim Corbett National Park office at Ramnagar. The 3-bed dormitory can be booked from the Corbett national park website. Visitors must carry identification papers on visiting the national park and FRH. Foreign nationals should mandatorily carry their passports. Indian nationals can carry either a Driving License number, PAN card, or voter ID card.
